Ogun State Police Command in Nigeria has arrested a man, Joseph Sunday, 50, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old-girl in
Ilaro.
According to PunchNg, the suspect allegedly ambushed the victim on her way to fetch water, dragging her to an uncompleted building where he defiled her.
Police arrested the suspect after complaint was lodged by the victim's mother.
The police P.R.O. in the state ASP. Oyeyemi said, “The policemen at the station where the case was reported immediately arrested the man. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime.”
Police commissioner in the state has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
